How Etsy fees work in 2026
On every sale, a US seller pays three fees: a $0.20 listing fee (Etsy renews the listing when it sells), a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus the shipping you charge, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing on the whole order, including tax.
If the buyer came from one of Etsy's ads on another website, add Offsite Ads: 15% of the order, or 12% once your shop passes $10,000 a year, capped at $100.
The quick rule: with free shipping, Etsy keeps about 9.5% + $0.45 of every order. So the price you need is (your costs + $0.45) ÷ (0.905 − the margin you want).

Questions
How much does Etsy take from a sale?
For a US seller, Etsy takes a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee. On a $25 item with free shipping that's about $2.83, or 11% of the sale.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the 3% processing fee both apply to the shipping you charge, so moving shipping into the item price doesn't change your fees. It can still help sales, because Etsy favors free-shipping listings in US search.
What is the Offsite Ads fee?
If a buyer clicks one of Etsy's ads on another site and buys from you within 30 days, Etsy charges 15% of the order (12% if your shop made over $10,000 in the past year), capped at $100. Shops under $10,000 can opt out; shops over it can't. Price so a 15% sale still makes money, and tick the box above to check.
Should I count my time?
Yes, even if you don't pay yourself yet. Enter the minutes each item takes and an hourly rate, and the calculator treats your time as a cost. If the profit only works when your time is free, the price is too low.
