The microphone
The BPM Detector uses your microphone only while you are listening for a tempo, after you press Start. The sound is analysed in your phone's memory to measure the beat and is then discarded. It is never recorded, saved, or sent to us or anyone else. When you press Stop, or leave the app, the microphone is switched off.
The iPhone and Android apps
The apps collect no personal data. They have no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and they don't send anything to us. The only permission they ask for is the microphone, for the reason above. The app keeps a count of how many songs you have measured, on your phone only, to know when the free songs are used up. Tapping a link in the app (for example to this page) opens your web browser, where that website's own policy applies.
Buying the unlock
If you buy the one-time unlock, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details. The app only asks the store whether the unlock has been bought on your account, so it can turn on unlimited listening and restore it on a new phone.
The website
The BPM Detector page runs on oscarkiki.com, which is hosted by HubSpot and uses cookies, analytics and the Reddit Pixel as described in the Oscar Kiki privacy policy.
If you choose to give us your email address on that page, to hear when the apps launch or to send us a question, we store it in HubSpot with your message and use it only for that purpose and occasional news about 313 Audio apps and plugins. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Children
The apps collect no personal data from anyone, including children.
